Many people do not realize it, but panic attacks are a common occurrence. Those who experience panic attacks are faced with moments of fear and anxiety. This can be scary, but with a bit of help, you can get through a panic attack. The following article contains tips that you can use to work through a panic attack. Sleep deprivation can make it more likely that an attack will occur, and it can interfere with your ability to cope with an attack if one should happen. Always try to get at least eight hours of sleep every night. Don't fight a panic attack or you'll end up increasing the adrenaline in your body and making the situation much worse. Remember that this too shall pass and that you just have to wait it out. I like to remember that in an hour I'll be looking back on it instead of being in the middle of it. If you want to limit the number of panic attacks your child experiences you should choose the foods you feed them carefully. Highly processed foods can make your child's blood sugar to spike and lead to their panic attacks. Feeding your child healthy foods can help them to be as healthy as they can be and diminish their panic attacks. When a panic attack starts to begin, stop what you are doing, sit back, and start taking slow, deep breaths. Take deep and regular breaths. Count slowly to five as you breath in through your nose, allowing your stomach to rise, and out through your mouth, again to a count of five. After ten repetitions, you should feel significantly better. It is important that you understand that panic attacks and anxiety attacks are a part of life. They are not something that you should feel embarrassed about. Everybody feels anxious about some things. It is important that you understand this so you can communicate how you feel to others in a stress free environment. A great technique when you have a panic attack is to visualize yourself as a bird. Fly through the blue, clear sky on the wind until you reach a beautiful meadow. Fly into the meadow and through the grass, watching it sway in the breeze. When you concentrate on all the details you're seeing you'll forget about the panic attack altogether. When you are having a panic attack, it is important that you not let the symptoms overwhelm you. Go with what's happening instead of trying to fight it. Try and imagine or visualize the sensations flowing around your body, rather than physically through it. The most important strategy to undertake is to control your breathing. Draw in slow, deep breaths at an even rate while also beginning to relax. As your adrenaline level decreases, you will feel better. When having a panic attack it's a great time to play a game! Join in a competitive sport, or get out a deck of cards and play some solitaire.
